I joined a New Frontiers church because I felt there was a freedom to have my own views and beliefs on certain issues eg the role of women without feeling I had to sign up to agreed doctrinal statement. I was concerned by Mark Driscoll stating that NF needs to clarify its doctrinal position because I am fearful that for many of my friends and myself there would be no option but to leave the church. Restoration for me is about a church that believes it is on a journey and has not made it yet. To pin down beliefs too tightly will limit growth, change and an openness to fresh revelation .

Hi, I'm not a member of NF,I've really just learned about it.

anon, surely that journey is not aimless? My understanding of NF is that it is restorationist, and the whole point of being restorationist is that something is being restored? In this case N.T truth.. Why should a church which desires the restoration of N.T truth be afraid to state clearly the truths it has recovered?
