New blog, new country, New Zealand

Newfrontiers Bloggers is proud to welcome a new nation to the Newfrontiers worldwide community of bloggers - King's Church youth group from Christchurch, New Zealand. Please check out their blog and say hi.

If you know of other blogs not listed here or changes, please get in touch and let us know. Thanks

Blog Update

Newfrontiers Bloggers has been ticking over for some time now and remains a popular site but it's also been a while since it was updated. So we've done some weeding and some pruning and general maintenance. Here are some of the changes:
  1. Removed inactive blogs. If a blog hasn't been updated in over a year we've removed it. If your blog was removed and you start blogging again, just let us know and we'll re-instate you.
  2. Updated links. Now Newfrontiers is a family of families of churches, we've added some links to make it easy for visitors to connect to the different groups.
  3. We've refreshed the theme. For an aggregator blog, we don't need lots of great design but we thought we'd change the picture and move some pieces around, to make it easier to find.
There are a few things that would help us, to bring the site back up to date:
  1. If your blog has moved address, moved feed or platform we may have missed that. Drop us a line and we'll update it, so your updates appear here whenever you write something new.
  2. If you see a blog from someone no longer a part of Newfrontiers please let us know, so we can get in touch with them to confirm.
We're still tinkering with a few things but it needed a refresh. Please bear with us if something has disappeared but do let us know in the comments

Many thanks for your support

The Good God

“At the heart of the universe is the passionate love between the members of the Trinity. Mike Reeves not only helps us grapple with a difficult doctrine but draws us to the magnetically attractive centre of all things. His light touch and theological wisdom combine to provide a truly helpful book which both clears your mind and warms your heart.” Terry Virgo

Don't miss Mike Reeves' pop-level book on the most important question you can ask: who is God. Discover that you never have speak of the eggishness or leafiness or wateriness of God again. Be drawn out into the bright sunshine of the gospel to see God more beautifully than ever before...

Everyday Church MP3s

Acts 29 Western Europe director Steve Timmis recently gave 8.5 hours of teaching in Exeter on the central importance of the church and of how that works out in
gospel communities. Its a mix of preaching and Q&A in the context of student workers, students, local church members and church leaders.
You can access it here: Everyday Church: Steve Timmis.

Introducing Jubilee+

I wanted to highlight and bring to your attention a new website recently launched by Newfrontiers, Jubilee+. It brings back to the centre of our attention care and compassion for the needy and the vulnerable and I hope it will be a significant resource for our churches. Here's the introduction from my friend and leader of the social justice team, Martin Charlesworth.
"What we are aiming to do is to provide you with the help you need to encourage and support you and your church in your social action agenda. We are aware that many churches are in need of resources, ideas, contacts and encouragement as they pursue their own projects and work in their communities. We hope this site provides something of what you need. This site is dedicated to social and community action within the Newfrontiers family of churches in the UK. However, if you are from another Church grouping we hope you find the information useful.Whilst the site is strongly focused on Newfrontiers, we will also feature partner organizations and important information about what is happening in other churches across the UK so you can see the wider context within which we are working."

Jubilee +

There are lots of places I’d rather spend a Saturday than Milton Keynes, I’m rather looking forward to meeting with countless others (though I suspect someone has counted) to hear Martin Charlesworth, Gavin Poole, Angela Kemm and Peter Lyndon remind us and inspire us to care about our social responsibility.

This is a big issue for us, and one that requires us to think deeply and act sensibly.  I hope that I will meet many of you there?

It’s not too late to sign up…

Matt Giles: We Are Your Church

Here's a new song about the church from Matt Giles (Frontiers Church, Exeter)

"But You who are love and mercy
- No sea can quench Your jealous, raging flame -
Have given Yourself to redeem us,
Your death has brought us back to You again."

Pastoral Refreshment Conference 2012 (by Living Leadership)

An opportunity for your church, or for a church leader in your city?
Pastoral Refreshment Conference 2012

Conference 1
(Terry Virgo):

6-8th February 2012
Conference 2
(Peter Maiden, Operation Mobilisation):
8-10th February 2012

With its deep emphasis on experiencing God's grace, the annual Pastoral Refreshment Conference is regularly described as an essential oasis where church leaders and their spouses can receive from the Lord for the the refreshment of life and ministry. The Pastoral Refreshment Conference is expanding! Last year we ran out of places. However rather than create a larger conference, to keep the sense of intimacy and community that is appreciated by so many, in 2012 we will run two conferences back to back.

This year's theme is the glory of God. How does adoring, gazing on and reflecting his glory fan into flame our spiritual walks? You can expect inspiring preaching and great, practical seminars for your spiritual walk and spiritual leadership. There will be plenty of space for spending time with God and opportunites to form close bonds of friendship with others in leadership.

The conference is mainly intended for full time Christian leaders and spouses. However, if you carry significant leadership responsibility in your church, for example as an elder or church warden, you are also very welcome.
